Artist Statement
My artwork is motivated by a love for architecture and a deep connection to a family tradition of craftsmanship. In my studio practice, I create abstract geometric paintings, small sculpture studies, and experiment with digital woodworking methods. Through alternating lines and repetition, I explore rhythm, movement, and structure.
Grids are a fundamental element in my work, providing a sense of order and modularity while also serving as a metaphor for the intersection of human experience and the built environment. These structures allow me to investigate contrasts: neutral and colorful, symmetry and asymmetry, animated and subdued.
For Euclidean City, I delve into the geometric foundations of my work, abstracting patterns from personal experiences and the cityscape. This exhibition reflects my ongoing search to honor the legacy of craftspeople in my family while interpreting the influences of architecture. By transforming data and memories into abstract forms, I aim to reveal the humanness within geometric precision and invite viewers to experience a dialogue between the personal and the universal.
