Have you ever wondered what goes into curating a contemporary art exhibition? Westobou Gallery takes you behind the scenes for a special look at how they transform their beautiful space with each exhibition. You will be immersed in the artwork and learn what it means to be a curator. Create your own charcuterie board inspired by the artwork and mingle with a glass of wine.

Seedlings Canvas Painting
Calling all K-5 area students! Join us at Westobou Gallery on October 21 and 22 to paint your canvas for our annual Seedlings exhibition opening on November 1st. It is FREE to participate and all canvases and paint supplies will be provided. Canvases will also be available to pick up and complete at home all month.

The Subversive Thread showcases four artists who challenge the conventional boundaries of fiber and thread art. Han Cao, Jennifer McBrien, Michael-Birch Pierce, and Stacey Lee Webber transcend these limitations by employing unconventional textiles and techniques, thereby redefining the medium conceptually and aesthetically.

AE the Cool is an R&B/Soul, recording artist and singer-songwriter, based in Augusta, Georgia. She is a storyteller, whose true thoughts and feelings are illuminated through her lyrics. Her candor and honesty work to give space to Black stories and Black voices. Her music expresses the love she has for others, and the love she has learned to give herself. She sang in her church as a child, and her talent blossomed as she grew. She developed her own unique, R&B sound that comes from a blend of jazz, hip-hop, and neo-soul.

Congressional Art Competition Reception + Awards
Westobou Gallery hosts the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for Georgia's 12th district. Every year, members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a nation-wide arts competition open to all high school students. The winning piece in each district will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, and the student artists will be invited to attend the national winners' reception in Washington D.C. Join us as the winners are announced!

Meal Series by Westobou
Enjoy a colorful mosaic of farm fresh soul food prepared by Chef Melanie Harvey of SolFood Kitchen served from handmade ceramic vessels by artist Rebecca Anchor. Just in time for spring, the pair will take you on a journey of renewal and regrowth with local produce and designs full of life and vibrancy accompanied by instrumental jazz by The Brownstown Gritty.
